This cycle path is divided into two sections because the middle section through the fascinating lunar landscape of rock at the Marocche di Dro has yet to be finished. The two completed sections make up about ten kilometres altogether: the longer section begins on the shores of Lake Garda at Torbole and ends in the small village of Ceniga; the other, shorter, section runs from Pietramurata to Sarche.

The countryside that the path runs through is among the most beautiful in all Trentino: the influence of Lake Garda favours the growth of Mediterranean vegetation which contrasts with the sheer rock-faces which surround the valley and the lake. Olive groves, cypresses, holm oaks, orange groves and agaves find their northernmost collocation in this area.
The path follows the bank of the lower section of the river Sarca, practically from where it flows into Lake Garda, and continues for about six kilometres as far as Arco, a lovely town at the foot of a huge rock upon which the castle of Arco stands proud. Arco is a health resort which has been famous since the 19th century and has some fascinating period architecture which it is well worth stopping to visit. The same goes for the castle and the Arboretum, located in the grounds of the old Archduke's Villa.

Proceeding along the cycle path which runs through the town brings you presently to the village of Ceniga, in sight of the Colodri and Malapreda rock faces, popular with climbers from all over the world.
For now the path ends at Ceniga, at least until the section crossing the Marocche di Dro is completed. This protected nature area has some strange features; it was created by an immense rockfall which broke away and fell from the sheer walls of Monte Brento. The other section of the cycle path runs again along the banks of the river Sarca from the village of Pietramurata as far as Sarche. This is a short run of about three kilometres which can be linked to the previous section via unsurfaced paths through the Marocche area; via the asphalt road around Lake Cavedine, or alternatively up the busy main road.

A further section of cycle path follows the northern shore of Lake Garda and links Torbole to Riva departing more or less from the same place as the path above. It runs right along the lake front, suspended over the lake itself, continues round the outside of a short tunnel and comes to Porto San Nicoḷ and then the centre of Riva del Garda, chief town on the Trentino side of the largest of the Italian lakes.
